2017
The beginning of an idea
We founded Polus Brasil, initially named ATMOS, while still electrical engineering students at the University of Brasília (UnB). From the start, our goal was to develop technology to make energy consumption more efficient and transparent.
2018 - 2019
Early market validations
We expanded our team and applied our technology to new sectors. Our first implementation in the hospitality industry yielded promising results, solidifying our business model and highlighting the need for smarter energy management solutions.
2020
Accelerated innovation and first investment
We were selected by Cotidiano Aceleradora, a milestone that allowed us to secure investments and accelerate the development of our first intelligent energy meter. This advancement opened doors to new markets and opportunities.
2021
Advancements in energy management and new business models
We focused on developing solutions for real-time energy consumption measurement and management, implemented across various clients. We also tested an energy subscription model, offering the energy meter with access to our management platform. This period was crucial for maturing our technology and better understanding sectors with the highest impact potential.
2022
The start of transformation in commercial refrigeration
Based on analyses from the previous year, we identified significant opportunities in the refrigeration sector. We developed the MVP of our intelligent cold room control technology and, in July, were selected for Ambev's acceleration program, implementing our solution in bars, restaurants, and bakeries in São Paulo and Brasília. That same year, we were highlighted among the Top 17 climate startups worldwide by Google, marking the beginning of a new phase for Polus Brasil.
2023
Global recognition and new investments
Our innovation gained international visibility, with participation in events like COP 27 in Egypt and Web Summit in Lisbon. In the same year, we were recognized by the American Chamber of Commerce as one of Brazil's Top 6 startups, with special distinction among the best in ESG. We also secured R$ 1.5 million in investments, enhancing our development capabilities and accelerating the evolution of our technology.
2024
Transition to Polus Brasil and international expansion
Our growth necessitated a stronger strategic positioning. We underwent a rebranding process and officially became Polus Brasil. That same year, we gained prominence in global initiatives, participating in Hack Brazil (Harvard/MIT) and attending the BRICS Energy Summit in Russia. We were also recognized as Startup of the Year by the German Westerwelle Foundation.
2025
Continued expansion and market consolidation
We continue to expand our operations across the country, managing over 300 cold rooms in 12 Brazilian states. We've solidified our position as a leader in refrigeration system control and automation, with a growing client base, increasingly robust technology, and international recognition. Our commitment remains the same: transforming energy management with innovation and efficiency.

Global recognition and contribution
Our technological progress has been showcased at major events like COP 27 in Egypt, Web Summit Lisbon, and the BRICS Energy Summit. We were selected by Google Startups for Sustainable Development, recognized as one of Brazil’s Top 6 startups by AMCHAM, and participated in a UN program (SDSN Youth). In 2024, our CEO was named Founder of the Year by the Westerwelle Foundation in Germany. In 2025, we joined AMCHAM’s Decarbonization Hub for the Industry.
